Assignment #3 – Day into Night

So! I'm not going to be able to work on the slit cam for a while so I wanted to get a banker in for the @sunny16podcast #dayintonight challenge! This is my 3rd attempt this week, using my LAST EVER pack of #polaroidoriginals #spectra film. The fun thing about #polaroidimage cameras is that you can force a double exposure by closing the lid whilst holding onto the shutter button. With a bit of jiggery Pokery inside a dark bag, and a couple of masks made of scrap Spectra shots, I managed to get this fetching #doubleexposure and I'm pretty happy with it! ‘Day to night’ camera I’ve simplified the “design”(lol) down to one clock mechanism, by approximately aligning the stacked graduated filters, with the path of the shutter. The filters reduce the light hitting the paper by 4 stops during the day, and effectively boost the exposure by rotating out of the way, as it gets dark. First attempts at a mechanical, rotating pinhole camera for the #sunny16podcast #dayintonight assignment. I call it ‘The Pillbox’. The mechanics of it appear to be working but I’ve got no idea if I’ll be able to make an exposure without some serious light leaks.
